Welcome, it’s so nice to meet you!

Hi! I’m Tara, and that’s my sister Jen.

Thank you for checking out our page. We hope you enjoy our stories.

When we unboxed our grandmothers recipe box, it revived something in our souls, a connection to the past: sitting with family in the kitchen, making cookies with grandma … and then recalling that sometimes dinner was not as enjoyable as the company.

We remembered some dishes were not our favorites, but we had no idea how horrible the recipes could be. It was no secret that our grandmother was not always successful in the kitchen. She had many wonderful skills, cooking was not one of them. Reading recipe after recipe, we came to the realization:

She was getting some truly terrible advice!

What started as a trip down memory lane quickly became a challenge to see who would find the most dreadful one. The deeper we befell, the more dreadful they became and the funnier it got. ‍ ‍

We didn’t want to end the fun, so we took the box with us and went to lunch. We could not stop laughing, one after another, they continued to shock us. “How did anyone eat this stuff”! Before long, our table had become entertainment for half the restaurant.

Finally, our waitress had to ask what was so funny. After hearing our story, she smiled and said, "You two should make a cookbook."

Instead, we had a slightly different idea: Let’s make them, feed them to our families, and document the results! After all, that's what people do these days—and why should we suffer alone?

And so, Never Dead Recipes was born. Out of nostalgia, humor, and a little dash of “Oh my, I cannot eat that”!

Because sometimes the recipe isn't worth saving...

...but the memories always are.

We're so glad you're here. Pull up a chair, laugh along with us, and help us resurrect the recipes that probably should have stayed buried in the box.
